Bullying-You Can Make A Difference!
When your child or someone close to you is being bullied, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  There are many steps to take to resolve a situation.  Make sure you understand what bullying is and what it is not, the warning signs of bullying and steps to take for preventing and responding to bullying.  Please make sure you talk with your child daily, be supportive, and work with your child's school to help resolve situations.  For more information on bullying click on the KCSS link:   Kentucky Center for School Safety

Suicide Prevention-It's Time to Talk!
Suicide remains as one of the leading causes of death for young people ages 10-24 in Kentucky.  House Bill 51 requires every public middle/high school administrator to disseminate suicide prevention awareness information to all middle/high school students by September 1 of each year.  Kentucky is also one of four states that mandates an annual two-hour suicide review for middle/high school personnel each year.  To learn more information about your school's program contact the school counselor.  For quick reference tools, you can access information about warning signs and protective factors on this page under SUICIDE FORMS.   If you have any concerns regarding your child or someone you love contact your local mental health agency, call 9-1-1 or contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline @ 1 (800) 273-TALK (8255).  Also, you can access more information about suicide and prevention by clicking on the link:  Kentucky Suicide Prevention-Let's Talk
